Biosecurity

Zeteo Biomedical’s ZTECH-L™™ and ZTECH-P™™ drug and biologic delivery platforms provide biosecurity solutions to package and administer vaccines, anti-virals and biomedical countermeasures for infectious diseases and bio-terror threats. ZTECH-L™™ and ZTECH-P™™ nasal and sublingual delivery devices are readily adaptable to public health needs, including rapid manufacturing and deployment to support both self or caregiver administration options for vaccines, anti-virals and biomedical countermeasures across large populations under crisis conditions.

The challenge of protecting large civilian populations against such threats is further complicated by the logistical storage and deployment requirements for many vaccines and medical countermeasures. Requirements for stockpiling, cold chain management, reliance on professionally trained healthcare personnel for administration, and ultra rapid response time to reduce morbidity and mortality pose daunting challenges when responding to a pandemic event or bioterror crisis.

Key biosecurity capabilities of the ZTECH-L™™ and ZTECH-P™™ delivery platforms include:

  • Rapid Fill/Finish manufacturing capability to produce multiple millions of doses per day. This rapid manufacturing capability provides the option to rapidly package biosecurity countermeasures such as vaccines in ready to use final form once a threat has been verified and an effective vaccine, or biomedical countermeasure has been selected.
  • Nasal or sublingual administration can be self-administered or administered by a trained professional. This approach provides flexible and rapid deployment options and reduces the dependencies and demands on a healthcare infrastructure operating in a crisis situation.  Our patient-centric dispensers are designed to be intuitive and simple to use facilitating self-administration for rapid deployment utilizing unconventional emergency response distribution methods.
  • Cost effective packaging of the vaccine or biosecurity countermeasure in unit dose blisters providing exceptional barrier properties for shelf stable long term storage.  Capabilities include packaging for liquid, powder and reconstituted powder to liquid products.  Our unit dose blisters can be stored at room temperature, refrigerated or frozen conditions down to minus 80° C.
  • ZTECH-L™™ and ZTECH-P™™ primary containers can be filled and stored in an intermediate Work In Process (WIP) state enabling efficient storage and transport of large volumes of doses in a small cubic. One million liquid nasal vaccine unit doses can be stored in approximately 80 cubic feet of volumetric space under room temperature, refrigerated or frozen storage conditions. Separating the primary container system from the dispenser system reduces storage space requirements, the cost of storage and inventory rotation for expired products.
